I would consider spending less on the CPU by getting an E6300 and get a beefier video card such as the X1950XT (or something in this price range):
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=323823
Gaming depends more on video performance than CPU, so I think the beefier video card will perform better despite a lower CPU (it's still blazing fast anyways).

Go ahead and buy a hard drive online - the vendor should package it nicely so it won't be damaged. I've ordered a number of hard drives online and never had a problem. While your at it, I'd go for a larger drive - 80 gig will fill up awfully quick with todays games...
These start at 250GB and go up from there....

I can't comment on the OCZ memory, I don't have any experience with it. 1 gig is good, but 2 gigs is really nice. I suppose you could always add more down the road if you need time to let your bank account recover

That's not going to be a quality power supply in that case, I woudn't use it. Try finding that case without a power supply to save a couple bucks, and get a quality power supply such as:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104954
(not from ZZF, but they didn't have this model)
Here's our power supply good/bad list if you want to check out others.

Win XP is fine, you can pick up XP Home OEM for about $90

I strongly suggest you take a look at Newegg.com unless you have something against them.

I would second getting a slower cpu and a faster video card such as the X1950PRO or X1950XT.

Also I believe those are the first revision ocz gold/platinums. They contain chips that have serious incompatibility issues with core 2 duo. I'd suggest you go for the Revision 2 sticks, or even better just go for some corsair valueselect or xms.

If you go with the X1950XT you will need a tougher powersupply. In which case I suggest one of these:
-Sunbeam NUUO 550W $64.99
-Silverstone ST50EF 500W $87.99

Good thing he accidentally added an "l" at the end - maybe the robots won't pick that up.

From what I've read, there isn't that much difference in speed between the E6300 and E6400 - so you might want to downgrade to a E6300 to save some bucks.

Also, a 19" LCD isn't that much more expensive than a 17", so I'd go for a 19".

What exactly does a P5B Deluxe have that you need that the P5B doesn't have? I'm learning about all this myself, so I ask. Unless a P5B wouldn't meet your needs then you'd be spending money on something you don't need.

As I understand it from all that I've read, a DDR2 667 would be enough unless you plan on overclocking. Maybe some of the pro's can comment on that.

Edit: the Lite On dvd-rw is highly recommended around here because in theory it comes with a nice bundel of software, and its a steady performer. I say "in theory" because mine came in yesterday with zero software...

Moronicus pretty much hit all the main points I was going to cover - I strongly suggest a 19" LCD as they are the norm now, Corsair ValueSelect DDR2-667 if you aren't overclocking, and a retail Lite-On DVD burner for software.

theres not much of a difference in price for a 800 or a DDR2-667 is there so y not get the better one also im think of over clocking but i need to read some. does every thing look compatible? is this a good enough comp to play all games to come and that are out now or do i need to upgrade something? A;so whats the difference in the p5b and the dluxe edition? How much do motherboards affect gameing? Also there was two of the same sunbeam power supplys same price every thing the same it was the Sunbeam NUUO SUNNU550-US-SV ATX12V/ EPS12V 550W Power Supply - Retail , but one of them PFC: No and the other was PFC: PF Value 0.95 ~ 0.99 whats this mean and witch ones better? sorry about all the questions, so theres not much of a difference from the E6300 and the E6400, whats the difference just a little faster? while the E6300 be good enough for all games or should i just spend a little more money and get the E6400?

My belief is if you cant afford a e6600 then go for a e6300. If your going for more performance and are looking at a e6400 then save up and get a e6600. Basically price/performance is just not there with a e6400. I'd also suggest a e6300.

P5B is a cut down version of the P5B Deluxe. The deluxe also offers more overclockability. Motherboards affect gaming by 1-2% at most.

Seems like they snuck a new model in. Go for the Sunbeam with power factor correction (PFC).

thanks for all the help i might just save for the E6600, i'll probly end up getting the E6300 because I already spent to much will the E6300 be able to play every game out now and to come for at least a couple years? Also when it comes to ram im alittle confused about how timing works is it better if every thing from A-E is lower? whats better lower and whats better higher? Also does it make a difference if i get 2 512mb or just 1g i only plan to go to 2 g so would geting the 2 512 be a better i do do 1 g over heat more easly or are slower any thing like that? what allows better overclocking kingston or corsair because on the p5b dulxe site it talks about the kingston ram for this motherboard, sorry for a million questions....,but thanks for the help so much

Wouldn't worry about OC. the Corsair Value Select in the DDR2 667 will do your games just fine. If your budget is tight go for the dual 512m ram and when you have more cash, get a second set of 512.

If you are going to buy a power supply, get a case that comes with no power supply to save some cash - unless you need a spare power supply.

You need ram in matched pairs so it will run in dual channel mode.
