Post Operating system?
After I install my operating system and drives are there any other software programs that I need to install/run on my computer in order for it to work?

None necessary (for it to work) that I can think of.

Drivers..update XP..install anti malware/virus proggies: adaware, spybot search and destroy, a good firewall (zonealarm or kaspersky), avg antivirus..

I didn't say any of those because he said only the necessary programs for the computer to run. But yes, definitely run all the updates and install security software.
