New PC

Im still trying to figure out the best way to go about building a 'decent' computer with a pretty tight budget. Heres what i have so far:

CPU

HDD

RAM

MOBO & CASE w/ PSU

I have a monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers already.

Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated, thanks

Socket 939 is being phased out with AM2 and upcoming processor sockets for/from AMD. BUT seriously... a budget would be nice to work with... we can't stick our heads up your butt and read your mind.

AND... you don't need to be making another thread when you've already got this other one going. It's a clutter. Thanks!

The only thing I'd question is the power supply. A few more dollars and you'd have something that would have a cheaper upgrade path for the next while. But... If budget is the primary concern and you want to take the chance of getting one of the problem free barebones, I'd go for it. A lot of knowledgeable builders here don't seem to like the Via chipset but for basic stuff, one has served me well for two years now. That price is good!

So you have purchased the above components? If you haven't, see if you can switch that hard drive to an SATA one.
