1st Intel build
After much reading these are the choices I've arrived at, please let me know if it all looks good, I have never used Intel before. I will be ordering next week and I'll be using this as my gaming pc. I already have the optical drives, keyboard, mouse, and lcd, will be migrating them from my current pc. I am also holding on to my Nvidia 7600GT for the time being, I'll upgrade the graphics card when DX10 comes about I'm thinking.

CPU Cooler http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835106069 Also, I plan on later purchasing another GB of ram - is it best to get 2 1GB sticks from the get-go or do 4 512mb sticks perform as adequately? I just wanted to keep initial cost down a bit, and those 2 GB kits are pricy. All input is welcome, I just need to make sure I'm not missing some glaring incompatibility... Thanks for any info Last edited by croden; 01-07-2007 at 06:34 PM. |

Everything is okay except the Goodpower - that's not one of the better XClios.

Thank you, is this one better?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103937 I'm not sure if I even need that much power but I figured better safe than sorry. |

If your looking at DX10 with your powersupply then im afraid that the minimum i'm comfortable with is this:
Corsair HX 520W$120 or Xclio 600W $100 <--Great Sale If that breaks the bank then you could go with a good placeholder psu: Xclio 450BL $40

Really that much wattage? I'd rather get what I'm going to need now than have to just get another PSU later, I'm probably gonna opt for the X-Clio then. Thanks

The 450bl then, right? The FSP 450w is also not a bad unit.
