Make a listening tube out of something and open up the case - and see if you can localize where it's coming from.

Think i found the problem..

HI GLC

Ok. I have noticed the problem is with the CPU fan and when this is not operating the buzzing noise sounds, and stops when fan starts working.. SO i guess the motherboard Has Fan Fail Warning Function, i checked this in CMOS
. But why does the Fan seem to to take a while to be operational. THis problem only seems to happen when i boot the PC, but after about 15 secs or so, the fan starts working and everything seems to work fine.
I've booted the Pc 2 times; 1st time - no buzzing noise; 2nd time - buzzing started...
Could it be a faulty fan/connection?

The mobo is a Gigabyte- GA-K8N Ultra - SLi
CPU- Athlon64 3200 SKt 939

CPU fans are generally speed controlled by the BIOS or maybe by motherboard software. When stating cold, the needs of CPU cooling is at it's lowest so the CPU fan is either not running at all or mininum speed. A bad or cheap fan may not be able to start on a low voltage so it may buzz. Check your BIOS and/or motherboard manual for CPU fan settings.

Is there dust stuck in it that could be preventing it from spinning? If there isn't any it is most likely a BIOS setting. Have you changed anything in the BIOS?
