Buidling just Simple questions

Basically as i was picking out my parts and stuff (this is my first build)


i was thinking about USB ports.....what i was wondering is what decides how many i have?...is it the mobo...the case or im just not quite sure how to describe it other than

What on the computer build determines how many USB ports i have i want as many as possible

The basic setup on motherboards is 4 USB sockets at the I/O and a place on the mobo for 2 case USB ports. Some hi-end boards may have 6 USB ports plus the 2 for case ports. I believe it is the type of chipset a particular board is using that will determine the number of USB ports.

The motherboard determines the amount of USB ports you'll have available. I've seen some motherboard with 10 USB ports available. And if you need more ports you can either add a powered USB hub or add a USB expansion card to a PCI or PCI-Express slot.

that would be good atleast i have options so ill not worry about that so much then
