New Build No Video

This is my first, from scratch, PC build and I can't get a video display. I've got an ECS NFORCE4-A939 motherboard, an AMD 3000+ Socket 939 processor, a 500 watt power supply case, 256MB of AENEON DDR 400 memory, a Fujitsu IDE harddrive, & 250GB SATA harddrive. I've tried booting it with an HP ATI Radeon X300 SE PCI-E video card and an ATI Radeon PCI video card and neither of the cards would give me a display. The case speaker is putting out one long beep and that's all I get. The book for the motherboard doesn't tell me what one long beep indicates. I've tried booting it with both harddrives connected and with the individual harddrives, always with the same result. The digital display on the front of the case indicates the harddrive is spinning up and the CD drive light flickers as normal during a boot up. How do I get this blankity blank thing running?????

Make sure you have the 24 pin AND the 4 pin power connectors plugged into the mobo. Also, make sure that the CPU and heatsink are mounted properly. If still a problem, do this:http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=132409

The power connectors, CPU, and heatsink were all mounted correctly so I followed your link. Did exactly as you described with the same result. I tried 3 different video cards. I have an ECS K7VTA3 motherboard with a processor and fan mounted so I tried that, same results. Pulled out an old 24 pin power supply and tried that. Same results. I have done countless rebuilds to include replacing the motherboards and harddrives, both at the same time, and never anything like this. Any further advice.
