First Build Problems

Hi I'm on my first build and I'm pulling my hair out of my head here.. I've put everything together in my case. When I power the computer on, all fans work properly, but every 5 seconds or so, the motherboard lets out a long beep and I get no display on the monitor. I'm really stressed out about this, I don't know what to do. Does anyone have an idea what circumstances would cause the motherboard to beep in this fashion?

Yep.. I have the 4 pin and 24 pin power connectors all set. The cpu fan is also plugged in. Does this mean I have a defective part? How do I find out which part is defective?

CRASH

Does anyone know if the type of beeping happening a symptom of a particular problem?

When I power up the box, the MoFo-Bo lets out about a second long beep every 5 seconds or so. It doesn't seem like the monitor is recieving a signal from the board. Later on tonight, i'll try to assemble the system outside of the case, but i'm just curious to know if the problem can be found out by knowing if a certain problem would cause the computer to beep this way.

Check the mother board makers web site to see which BIOS brand they use on that board then can go here to look up the beep code:http://bioscentral.com/
Also, check the mobo site for beep codes.
