Which Motherboard???
I'm new at this and worried about making an expensive mistake. I bought the PC Mechanic book and an Intel Pentium D 830 Processor. I am now looking for a motherboard, but I don't know which to get. I want to use Windows Vista when I finish building this and probably do some gaming. I can't afford top-of-the-line, but want something good.
Next I'll be looking for power supply, memeory, video card, CD & Hard Drive and on and on... Can someone offer some guidance for both make and source of these and other components? Thank you in advance

Give us a budget, please.
Moved to BYOPC. The 830 wasn't exactly the best choice, by the way - it's old technology and it runs pretty hot. |

You should return it for a Core 2 Duo E6300 or at the very least a Pentium D 915 in my opinion. Check out Newegg.com.
