I need to know exactly how much you have to spend, and whether or not you will be needing a keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc.
Also, do you mind typing with proper capitalization, etc. so it is easier for myself and others to read? Thanks. I am more than happy to configure a list of parts for you given a budget.

Did you want to go AMD or Intel?
Right now AMD would provide a cheap, decent system but the current platform is pretty unstable. The other option is to do a build with a Pentium D until you can afford a Core 2 Duo, but honestly, I would just wait until you have enough money to do it right. To make a gaming system I suggest a minimum budget of $700 - considering you won't need anything else such as a monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. |

And what is the difference between AMD and Intel/which would be better for a gaming system?

Intel makes for a better gaming system at the moment. Ideally what you want to shoot for is a Core 2 Duo system, using an E6300 processor, a P5B motherboard, Corsair ValueSelect memory, a Seagate 7200.10 hard drive, etc.
I made myself what I think is a very competent gaming system for around one thousand dollars, and it had quite a few accessories included: E6300, P5B, 1gb Corsair VS, 160gb WD hard drive, Lite-On DVD burner, case with blue LED fans, high quality power supply, 19" widescreen LCD monitor, speakers, headset, and basically everything I needed to start with a new system. |

oh woops i missed those last few lines for some reason...well yea if you could please put together some sort of list for my stuff around $1000 that would be great. and if you want to include the moniter and speakers just for the sake of me knowing the cost, i dont need anything special just a 17" screeen and basic speakers.

Add in some speakers, keyboard, mouse, and monitor, you may be looking more towards $1,000. - I chose 1gb of memory because it should be plenty and for a budget system 2gb is out of the question. - You can choose the case, but you will need a good power supply. Antec makes good power supplies, as does Seasonic and Silverstone. |
