Will these gloves be enough protection when building on a tile floor and wood table?

gloves

Also if I want to take a break in the middle of the build what precaution should be taken? Close the case or leave it open and cover it with something, etc.

Thanks!

not to get into over kill, a simple cheap wrist strap will do just fine.

They should do the trick. I use an anti-static band, and thats always been more then enough protection. I'm not sure I'd trust myself with gloves just because there are some tight areas in a computer and I think gloves would get in my way. But if this is your first computer and you are careful, those should do the job.

the only thing I see bad about the gloves is the fact that I see no wire from them to a earth ground, so how can they discharge anything.

you would be better to use the wrist strap.
but thats just my thoughts on it.

To be honest, I think those would be more of a nuisance than a help. I never used anything to protect me from electrostatic and have had no problems. If you get anything, I'd recommend an Anti-Static wristband.

use a antistatic strap, it wont get in your way and you wont know youve caused problems until possibly months later when somethings fails and you will assume its just a faulty part.
