Has anyone used these books(Build your own PC-printed books) to build there computers?? I'm thinking about picking up these books to fix my already built PC. Just want to go in and fix everything in my pc and upgrade my hard drive from 120GB to 300-400 GB and get a new OS (Vista) Just have alot of existing issues to fix to make my PC seem brand new!!! It is worth it if you are a new builder... You are asking the creators of the book (PCMech) if their product is good.

Honestly, if you could describe your problem to us we can probably help you out. Try this troubleshooter: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=132409

I have bought a bunch of different How-to books and they are all just sitting on a shelf collecting dust.
As for using the PC in your sig for Vista, it will probably only run Vista Basic.

I wouldn't pick up a book on building a PC, if you want to learn more about computers I'd look for a book on troubleshooting and a A+ Certification book.

Building a computer is fairly easy to do, the hard part is knowing which parts to pick so that they work together right.

We can help you troubleshoot and fix your computer. What kind of computer is it? Home built or name brand? What are the complete system specs including the power supply and the OS?

What kind of problems are you having?
