PC Does Not Power Up
A couple of days ago, my PC died while i was gaming. Graphics disappeared from the monitor, but everything (fans + power & HD LEDs) was still on. I tried turning it off, leaving it for a night and turning it back on, everything powered up but there was no activity on the monitor or any usual BIOS start up beeps. The HD activity LED was constantly on, whereas normally it would blink at start up.
The same problem persisted, so i decided to make a new PC. I got a new motherboard and CPU, and connected everything according to the manual. (I built the PC that "died" before.) The first time i turned on the power swith, the exact same thing happened as when i turned on the old PC. After about 30 seconds, the fans stopped running and LEDs went off. I believe he PC powered off itself. However, i could not turn power back on after that. I am wondering what could possibly be the cause of this. Could i have fried the motherboard and/or CPU? How could i test this? Side note, the old PC stopped powering on as well. |
