I need to help someone and i need some info.

Basically i know someone with a Packard bell PC , he wants to upgrade to a E6600 now i dont particularly know alot about Intel's processors neither have i ever upgraded a Prebuild,

This is is his PC but the one he has got has a 7600 GT instead of the crap card thats inside it, http://packardbell.co.uk/products/at...316401-46.html

Now what i want to know is would he be able to Upgrade to a E6600 just simply by installing it then reformatting or is there something else he should know?

Doesn't look like he can go to a Core 2 Duo. The latest BIOS update is for support of a couple of Pentium D 9xx CPUs
