Wanting to upgrade my pc

I dont know if this in the right forum or not, but i dont want to build an entire pc. I would just like to know if i could just buy a new hard drive, buy a dvd burner, and upgrade to vista using my compaq presario 6000 series pc. I use my computer for alot of things. The only problem i have with it is its just WAAAAAAAAY to slow...

Can you even upgrade your hard drive and all that on a compaq or do you have to just build a custom pc?

Id like to build a whole pc buy money is tight right now so i just want a new hard drive and a couple other things add to my compaq, if thats possible. (just start over with it no music, no games, nadda, just the essentials for school)

Doesn't look like much can be upgraded, might be able to add ram and add a hard drive/DVD. As for Vista, I would say no.

If you want Vista you need to build one or buy a new Vista-ready PC. Upgrading a name brand prebuilt is not really feasible.
