Problems installing XP new machine
I need help! Built my PC , powers up fine. When trying to install Windows from the set-up cd, it crashes whilst on the "copying setup files" part after formatting. I have tried installing it on a spare IDE drive in my other computer, which when I swap it to the new one, won't boot up - it flashes up the dreaded BSOD for a second and restarts itself. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

CD/DVD drive set in BIOS as first boot device?
Is the Windows CD a burned copy or an orginal Windows install CD?

CD/DVD is set to first device.
The CD is a burned copy with extra drivers, as my original didn't recognise my SATA drive, it said no hard disk was detected. |

Test your ram.
www.memtest.org Burn a new CD or use the real thing and load the drivers off a floppy. |
