First build, won't turn on
I had an emachines T2692 and it died just before Xmas. A local computer store tested the power supply and it was gone. I bought a new one. I hooked it up and nothing happened. THen I discovered a telephone plugged into the same syrge suppressor was dead too. I have an old beater Dell so I tried the the componenets from it and they were fine, DVD ROM, hdd, etc. RAM was fried though. I dug it out a couple days ago and took it to another puter fixer guy and he took the cpu out and tested it in another motherboard and said it was fine.He also checked a spare RAM stick I had for it, fine too. So I got a new motherboard, changed it over, was VERY meticulous following all the steps and got everything hooked up. When I plugged it in and hit the switch absolutely nothing happened. Not even a light or a fan. (Yes I checked the power switch)
WHere do I go from here? |

Thanks guys It's up and running. I had the lead to the front switch backwards. It just turned that little plug around and we have much joy in the household now.
