Firsy ever build, Proposed Spec

Hi, this is my proposed spec for my new machine……. Could you tell me if there are any compatibility or other issues?

I’m gonna use this machine for gaming, and internet, coursework..

Concerns:
-Not everything is compatible
-Over did something that won't get full usage because another part isn't up to it

I have a monitor.. Samsung Syncmaster 940mw, and am a bit worried about it and the videocard, are they compatible with each other? My monitor is a DVI connection.

I have all the bits and bobs, (mouse, keyboard etc) so im not worried about those.

Are you wedded to AMD? Right now, the Core 2 Duo processors from Intel will outperform a setup like yours, and in my opinion will provide a better value. Let us know how you feel about this and I'm sure someone will be willing to criticize your list.

For an AMD build, that looks fine except you should use DDR2-800 ram.

Wow, VATs rough.

I'm going to agree with newbuilder on the Core 2 Duo. And here is some nice DDR2-800 Ram:

(I don't think you can use NewEgg, however try and find this at one of your available retailers)

If not going to do any overclocking, can go down on the ram to Corsair Value Select DDR2 667 and save some money. Won't see any performance drop.
Also, if not going to run dual video cards in Sli, this would be the board to get:http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=470940

Agreed, drop the SLI board and go for a more stable P965 board that Flanzig linked.

I'd also suggest you reconsider paying a lot for a top-spec video card right now. Direct X 10 cards will be rolling out soon, so it makes much more sense, in my opinion, to buy a low-midrange card now to tide you over. This 7600GS would be my suggestion:
