Do you plan to record one show and watch that one show, or do you wish to record one show and watch another?

If its the first, go for a Hauppauge PVR-150. If its the second go for a Nvidia DualTV found at www.pcalchemy.com

you also need to clarify what pvr software you are using as hauppage brands 2 different 150s, one for MCE and another for everything else. Depending on which you buy, it may come with an MCE remote, an all around IR remote w/blaster, or none. whatever card you go for, make sure it supports hardware encoding, otherwise recording will chew up cpu resources.

Definately, if you want to start out simple I would suggest MCE. If you have the extra $$ and want to go all out then something like beyondtv would be decent.
