Stuck after first boot up
Hello again,
No problem I am sure, everything booted up well after I inserted the CPU power. Problem is after start up and loading disk that came with mobo I do not know what to do from here. I am unfamiliar with dos and not sure what choices to make. Currently I have to select 1 of 5 options: a) Make Intel ICH8 32bit AHCI/RAID Driver Disk b) Make Intel ICH8 64bit AHCI/RAID Driver Disk c) Jmicron JMB36X 32bit AHCI/RAID Driver b) Jmicron JMB36X 64bit AHCI/RAID Driver e) Free DOS comand prompt I don't want to screw things up so if anyone could give me details on what to do next to get as far as loading my WindowsXP Pro would be appreciated. I check the mobo book and it does not help much unless I am overlooking something. I am not running raid for your information as well Specs are: Mobo: Asus P5B-E CPU: 6400E Intel VC: eVGA 7950 HDD: 7200.10 Seagate PSU: 600w OCZ Memory: Corsair XMS 2 x 1gig |

The disc that came with the mobo is for after you have installed the OS. Install windows, then install the drivers for the mobo from the disc that came with it (lan drivers, usb drivers, ect) then install your anti virus, insure your firewall is on then connect to the internet and start updating. No need for the mobo disc until after you have installed windows. Hope that helps straighten things out.

If you have more than one stick of RAM installed remove all of them except one, Windows setup can get a little confused when it has too much RAM to play with.
You need to change the boot order in your mother board BIOS to boot from the CD first, put your installation CD in the CD drawer and restart the machine.
