look for SATA optical drives, i think lite-on is recommended frequently here, but i dont have one so cant really say. apparently there are problems with the 3rd party ide controller on the p5b's and may cause problems with ide opticals.

WRT your vid card, alot of people here have been suggesting a 7xxx series card until the dust settles on dx10 and more cards are available. unless you have lots of money its not a bad idea as the 8800s are 4x the cost of 7600GT cards after rebates.

If not into overclocking, the Corsair Value Select DDR2 667 is the best choice.
For opticals in IDE, Lite-On is the choice. If you want to go SATA, not sure what is avaiable in GB.
HD: go with OEM, motherboard will have the SATA cables.

I got a Samsung WriteMaster SH-S183A that didn't work which has prevented the PC from working. It was SATA and some of my specs are similar so perhaps it was an isolated case but another user had the same issue. Could be one to avoid.

We generally recommend that you avoid Samsung hard drives and optical drives. They make great monitors but some of their other products leave something to be desired.
