When you boot from CD you will get a prompt to press any key to boot from CD. Press any key and then after the first reboot, dont press a key and it will load windows

Hope That Helps

You can make that change any time after the OS is installed...if you don't do it right away you won't hurt anything, the system will just check the optical drive for a bootable CD and if it doesn't find one it'll just move on to the next bootable drive (your floppy drive or your hard drive).

After the OS is installed you then install the chipset drivers from the motherboard CD and any other necessary drivers (sound, ethernet, FireWire, etc...) and then install the video card drivers. Then you should install your security software (anti-virus, anti-malware, etc...) and then go on-line and update Windows and your security software. After you've done all that then you can install your productivity software and games and such.

I had the same problem on my first build. I came here to find out the next step as you did. Then I printed sections from this article Dave Risley, the CEO of PC Mech wrote for more details.

Have fun!
