PSU Question.

I'm going to get a new video card soon, and i wanted to get a new psu to be sure it works. It says it needs a 12V current rating of 20A or more. My question is if there is more than one 12V current rating, do you just add all the amps up?

If so, then I'm deciding whether to get one of these two:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817153028

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817159054

My build's current specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
ASUS A8V-Deluxe
Seagate 7200rpm 200gb SATA drive
2x 512mb corsair valueselect
Thermaltake Silient Purepower 480w

The specs for my current psu is here:
http://www.thetechlounge.com/article...ower+480W+PSU/
As you can see, it only has one 12V current with a rating of 18A

The videocard that I want to upgrade to is:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143046

(Look GLC, I'm not lazy anymore )

EDIT: Might want to go with the Thermaltake psu cause it has pfc... My parents always complain about the electric bill at the end of the month xD. Might cost me an extra 30 dollars, but I guess I'd probably save more in the electric bill in total... a lot more, hahaha.

the coolmax is listed on the no-no list and thermaltake is on the OK but not stellar list of PSUs in the general hardware thread. XCLIOs, fortron PSUs are well liked here.

as i understand it, with multiple 12v rails, you add up the total amps, so technically either of those 2 PSUs are rated to supply enough juice, but there are better quality units out there for comparable pricing.

also look for PSUs with higher efficiency ratings to reduce heat and wasted electricity. i think >80% is the standard now with some "green" units going >85%.

The Thermaltake will be fine. The Coolmax is junk.
