Cool Experts Come Here...

Hi guys, I had a strange problems with my new DIY pc. Everything was ok from assemblling hardware to installing window. But then it will automatically shutdown if i want install software, running application or virus scanning (like insuffient power supply or too hot temp). And i need to unplugged cable to restart. But CPU temperature in BIOS shown 30' to 45'C.

So I back to the basic:

1. Re-assembling.
2. Try to re-install windows but same result.
3. Change and testing RAM still not ok.( I have 2 stick Kingston 512mb DDR2 533)
4. Replace PSU-(come with casing) with quite quality PSU Power Logic 600w (also expensive) still same!!

spec:
Intel Pentium D 2.8ghz
1024mb DDR2 RAM Kingston 533 (2 x 512mb)
Mobo - BIostar 945P Tforce
Winfast Nvidia PX7300 GS
160gb SATA caviar WD
600watt Power Logic
17' LCD

I'm thinking my MOBO problems...
so anyone with idea? Please...

First, do what GLC said - assemble the PC outside the case first. Then I begin to suspect the Power-Logic PSU - it said 600Watts here, but the REAL one is 300Watts. The Pentium D drinks up lots of wattage so you might be very careful about the PSU you choose.

Hey dude, you from Malaysia? me too, somewhere in Johor. Anyway TQ very much. The Problem is PSU. I changed the PSU and now its ok until now. Tested with playing some game (Fifa Manager 07) and video editing. But my GPU (Nvidia PX7300) temperature shown around 51'C to 65'C. it is OK?

Yea, I'm pretty sure that's fine. Video cards can take A LOT more heat than processors.

Yes, I'm from Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur. The Power-Logic PSU is fine for low-capacity use - it has great price too, and a decent quality. I once used the PSU on a power-drinking Celeron D without any glitch.

The better ones with more wattages are Cooler-Master True Power series, Acbel, and also Enermax if you can really afford it. Just steer away from Icute - apparently they are selling like hot cakes in our place, but the quality is VERY questionable.

Guys, thanks for your reply. But sometimes my PC becomes crazy. .The BIOS setting (also the clock) becomes default automatically when I'm switched on in the morning after long hours gaming in the night. Someone told me its due to faulty battery. It is possible? Because my MOBO is new n I'm considering the battery also new.

The battery may be defective - they are cheap enough to try a new one. They are standard coin batteries, they cost about $2 US here.
