problems with first build....help please!!

hi guys,i`m trying to build this new computer and i`m having big problems with this thing,the first one is that the board won`t power up unles i disconect almost everything (video card ,fans etc),my second problem is that when i disconect everything and the system finally turns on i can not get pass the firts welcome screen(the motherboard bios welcome screen),and them it just goes black with the blinking cursor and also it won`t power up my keyboard,any help will be welcome,here is the list of the parts i`m working with:

Follow the troubleshooting instructions found here. You must remove the motherboard from the case when doing this.

If the same things happens with just the core components (motherboard, CPU, heatsink, RAM, video card, power supply, monitor, keyboard and PC case speaker) then one of those components are defective.

did that already and still no luck,i`m staring to believe it`s the mobo,i mean not even the keyboard turns on,anybody had a similar problem? thanks

If you've already done the out-of-case troubleshooter and are still having the same problems, I'd think about trying another compatible power supply before I declare the motherboard to be the problem. Rosewill power supplies are kind of hit-n-miss as far as quality and reliability go.

There may also be a ram compatibility issue.

hey glc did you check my memory in my first post? can you tell me if they may be incompatible with the board like you said?......thanks

What exact model number? There are alot of matches with that brand name.

I used Patriot DDR2-667 memory with the first edition of that Intel motherboard without any problems, but it still might be an incompatibility issue.

I would go into bios and double check that the memory voltage is set at 2.2v.

that`s the thing ferrari i can`t even get in to the bios,all i get is the bios welcome screen and them a black screen with the blinking cursor.

I would see if you can borrow or go and buy a ddr2 stick of some corsair valueselect from your local computer store. Boot it up and change the voltage, and then go return it.

If not possible..then you can try to RMA your patriot for some more compatible memory.

i`m actually geting a new board tomorrow(i rma the first board thinking that was the problem),i `ll try the new one and post back later with the results>thanks you all for you help.
