new comp wont boot

hey guys, new comp specs are:
intel core 2 duo e6700
asus striker extreme motherboard
Corsair Micro - TWIN2X2048-6400C4
XFX 8800 gtx graghcs card
cool master 850 real pro psu

so i installed all this into my antec case went to power on worked fine setup the raids for vista install restart the comp the fans spin for a second then powers off. press the power button again samething spins for a second then powers off. followed the instructions on this forum page take everything out then leave cpu video, power on with screw driver same thing happens spins a second powers off. my question now is how do you know what is causing the problem? is it motherboard, cpu graphics power (i used a mates psu that works in his comp samething) thers no unsual smells ive tried mem that works, nothing. please can anyone help

Is the CPU heat sink properly seated with some thermal paste in there? If the video card requires a power plug, is it plugged in there?

i managed to resolve my problem by tking the motherboards battery out then back in seems to have done the job, will this problem come back again???? as that would be quite annoying

ok i have a new problem now the computer boots everything stays on now but there is no signal to the monitor. the comp turns the screen on but i cant see anything on the screen any suggestions?

ok follwed all of the above again same result it all powers on stays on but still no signal to the monitor (though it clicks on) so is that graphics card or motherboard or cpu or memory? lol oh man this is annoying, arghhhh anyway thanks for the help guys

As I said in another thread, I had the same problem and all I did was change the direction of the RAM and put them in different coloured ports... no idea why it worked but it did and it might work for you, you never know.
