Question Help With My Build!!!!

i NEED SOME HELP! I have spent the past 2 days putting together a new PC. bought from different boxes trying to get what I wanted and needed. Here is what I bought:

1. Abit AB9 Pro Motherboard with built in LAN and Built in Sound Card IntelP965 Express chipset supports up to a Core 2 Duo with 9X SATA 3GRAID and 1 X E-SATA( not sure what that part is) but it only has one IDE port but I can work with that.
incase you havent figured it out I just read it from the box-- lol

2. Case-- Ninja with a 450 WATT power source

3. Intel Pentium D Processor 925 core duo 3 GHZ

4. PNY GeForce 7300GT PCI Express Gaphics Card 256 MB DDR2

5. already had and Atapi/Eide internal DVD-RW Sony 16x that I installed

Have a floppy but didnt want to have to install it since I havent used it in 2 years.

So I started putting everything together yesterday and it got caught in a loop where it kept saying Windows XP was not closed properly (or Something like that) proceed in Safe Mode or Last Config or Normally--

No matter which one you chose it would reboot the system and go back to that every time and was not detecting my old 30GB EIDE Hard Drive. .......
So I went and bought a SATA 160 GB Hard drive today after getting my Dad over to look at it and he couldn't figure it out either-- and he built my last computer and now I cannot get the system to locate the hard drive. I am very frustrated the next day because I am stuck-- I read something in the set up CD for the hard drive that said to connect the floppy and it would lead me to create a Boot from Floppy-- It is not working and I am not sure what I am looking for now. I am very lost and need your help. I hope I have given enough info. Who can help me?

Thanks! :-)

u may have to change what the computer reads the hdd as....meaning primary hard drive or secondary...

go into your bios and see if it shows up at all.....go to boot order and look under hard drive just to see if it shows up

A:\ seagate CD
B:\ floppy if attached
C:\ Ram Drive

How do I fix that?

there is no pic....i was reading through the manual and it said some of the older motherboards cannot handle the 3.0 gbits/sec drive and to add a jumper which was already in there-- i took it out and still nothing.

Set the bios to make SATA emulate IDE, connect the SATA hard drive to the lowest numbered SATA port. Use the 80 wire IDE cable for the CD drive, blue end to mobo, black end to the drive, jumper the drive to CS. Set the bios to boot to CD first and boot to the XP CD and install XP.

This is what he said:

Set the bios to make SATA emulate IDE
So that means there is a setting in your BIOS options to make SATA emulate IDE. Give that a shot.
