OK, here's the problem.
I recently built a PC with some spare cash I had and after it was finished I tried to boot it up and set up my BIOS. Everything seems to be running fine (all fans and lights work, CPU and HD come to life) but all I get on my screen is a "No Signal" message. I've tried replacing the video card but the new one does the same thing. I think that the problem lies with my video card but I thought I would present my problem here and see if anyone could give me some advice before I pay someone to look at it. Anyway, here are my specs.: Motherboard--------ABIT Fatal1ty AN8 CPU--------------------AMD Athlon 64 Video card-----------ATi X600XT Radeon PCI-E 256MB RAM-------------------2 1xGB PC2700 RAM 1 184PIN Hard Drive-----------Seagate 160GB SATA/300 8MB Cache Drives-----------------2 18x DVD±RW Berners SAMSUNG SH-S182M 1 3.5 Floppy drive Any advice is apreciated, Thanks Buraitou |

Welcome to PCMech.
What is the brand and model of your power supply? Do you have both the 24pin and square 2x2pin power connections in place? Try our new build troubleshooter: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=132409 Be sure to remove the motherboard from the case completely.

Set PCI EXPRESS SLOT 1 to "AUTO".

I had that problem and, extremely strangely, I had my memory the wrong way around in the wrong ports. Normally it should always work but I changed the direction and put them in the other coloured ports and they worked. No idea why but it might help you. =)

I am having the same problem with my video card I have done almost everything to try and fix it I dont know what I messed up on. I am going to try and make sure everything is plugged in correctly because I think I might have actually put my ram in the wrong place but if that doesnt work does anyone else have any other ideas? Btw I too have a ABIT motherboard does this have anything to do with it?

Cnoland - please don't hijack this thread. Start your own thread for your issue. When doing so, please post your full system specs.

The PSUs that come with Xion cases aren't very good. Would try a known working PSU in that build to eliminate the PSU.

Do you have a spare power supply around, or know someone that you could borrow one from? That is the next thing to test.
If neither of those options are available, you can visit a computer repair shop and ask them to test it for you. |
