Boom video card problem

I just built my computer and I started it up for the first time it worked but I had to go to class and work that day so I turned it back off. I came home later that day and now the monitor isn't working I have tried everything that I know to do I have switched the video card to a different slot on my motherboard (both PCI Express) and I am at a major loss I dont think it is the video card that is the problem I just think that I am doing something wrong so if anyone can help it would be very appreciated.

I am at work so I do not remember the exact specs but I have a ABIT motherboard and a 512mb pci express 16x video card.

When you can, please post back with the exact specs, including the brand and model of your power supply. The fact that the system was working, and now no-longer is would suggest something has expired. Follow the steps in this thread to try and isolate what's wrong:

Are you getting any beeps?
try removing the memory one bank at a time, then try removing both banks (all) and see if your pc yells at you.
Getting no video and no beeps means your computer isn't posting. So, it could be a number of things- video card, mb, cpu, psu.
Also- refer to your MB manual and reset the CMOS battery. If that doesn't work, unplug your power supply and try a different one, granted that you have a spare lying around.

Update.

I fixed the problem with the video card. It turns out I just had to reset the cmos and start over.
