New build; how do these parts look?
I'm building a computer for a client who has a budget of $600ish. He's looking to do some light gaming (I'm under specific instructions that it run Tiger Woods 2007), word processing, internet, etc. It's been a while since I've built a computer, so I'd like to make sure these components will work together, and are reliable.
Case: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16811108024 Asus M2NBP-VM M-ATX motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16813131072 ASUS EN7300GT GeForce 7300GT 256MB: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16814121021 AMD Athlon 64 3500+ AM2: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16819103633 Corsair 1GB (2x512) DDR2 800 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820145566 Seagate 7200 120gb SATA: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16822148161 Lite-on CD/DVD burner: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106045 Total: $504.95 + tax/shipping + $50 or so to build it. How does it sound? Thanks |

Power supply in that case isn't ATX 2.0 and is only 350 W. Take a look at the Antec cases, the Sonata 2 should be good for that build, Switch the hard drive to a 16Mb cache model, you can get a 250 Gb for about 75 bucks. And check the configurator at corsair or the QVL list at asus to be sure you are getting compatible RAM.

Can I just purchase one of these 450watt PSU's: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182019 and put it in the case? Also note that this is a micro-atx build.
Thanks |

Micro ATX boards fit in standard ATX cases. As long as you are getting a video card anyway, why not a standard ATX board without onboard video?

That burner does not come with any software. Most OEM's don't, look for retail boxed units.
