Evaluate my new build please.

Hello all, first time on the forums. I recently built my first computer and its up and running. My specs are:

Thermaltake Xaser III v1000+ case
Core 2 duo e6600
2 gigs G Skill ddr2 800 ram
eVGA 7900gs
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320gb HDD
Asus P5B deluxe MOBO
XP Media Center Edition 2005 w/vista upgrade

My questions are:

Should I have went with the eVGA 680i MOBO instead? Looking back I kind of wish I did but I went with the P5B instead. What all advantages would the 680i give me compared to the P5B and vice versa?

When should I use my Vista upgrade? Should I wait until SP1 comes out or is it good enough for now. The only software I have is Spyware Doctor, ESET NOD32 anti-virus, Microsoft Office 2003, Nero 7 premium, Doom 3, BF 2142, and The Sims 2.

The major difference between the motherboards is that the 680i boards support SLI from Nvidia. The P5B Deluxe has two PCI-E slots but does not support SLI. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. SLI is not worth it, one card is a more solid investment and can play any game out there.

We have been recommending tha people wait at least until SP1 to upgrade to Vista.

Welcome to PCMech.

thanks for the help. One more question I forgot about. I need a PSU because i used my buddies bc his computer was out of commision for a while but the PSU he had was fine. I was thinking either the Xclio 600 watt (seems great for the price) or the Corsair 620 HX...which one would be better or any others in that price range? do I need more power than that ( I will be getting an 8800 series card in a couple months. I also will be doing some moderate overclocking ( to about 3.0-3.2 ghz or so)

Either one of those will work fine with a 8800.
