Random restart with new build

I just got everything listed in this post and the computer boots up fine but after < 30 seconds the computer shuts down without so much a message or beep.i removed everything and worked with just a video card and i can get in cmos for around a half a minute but after that it shuts down then when i try to turn it back on it comes up for 2 seconds then shuts down again. Any ideas?

I hate to be negative but those ECS motherboards are aweful. It is more than likely the mobo needs to be RMAd.
If there is a way you can have it replaced with an Asus or even a Biostar you will be doing yourself a huge favor.

Ok this might seem silly but can you please check and make sure your processor power plug is fully inserted on the motherboard?

Hard to say, in a situation like this I generaly try other memory then other graphics card. This could be caused by any hardware on the machine.

Are you getting random restarts or random shutdowns?

Either problem can actually be caused by almost anything...first thing I would do is make sure the heatsink is installed correctly. If you installed the heatsink while the motherboard was already installed in the case you might want to pull the motherboard and see if the heatsink pins are all the way through and locked down properly.

That's classic symptoms of overheating - I will lay odds the heatsink is not completely snapped down and locked.

Aye i fixed the problem with the heatsink, after cleaning off and reapplying thermal gel it brought the temp back down to 60deg cel. Now a new problem has cropped up and im not sure if its a computer or power supply issue...After a good ten minutes or so the circuit breaker blows lol talk about a fit of nightmares.

Lol, make sure your power supply switch on the back is set to the proper voltage per your country's standards. 60deg is high for idle, remove the heatsink-fan, clear off all the thermal compound, thoroughly reapply a even, thin layer across the processor, and fasten the heatsink again (all 4 pins locked down).
