Thoughts on low budget upgrade.

I'm sitting at work atm so I am not totally sure of the exacts of my current system, but I believe it is Pentium 1.6 Ghz, 1gb ram, GeForce FX 5200 256mb Vid card. These are the components I am looking to upgrade (and motherboard of course). I am trying to keep the cost down as low as possible with limited funds due to preparing for my first child. Here is what I have come up with, mainly taken from suggestions from another thread. I play EQ and Guild Wars from time to time. I am hoping that this setup will last me for a decent amount of time and run games well enough for the forseeable future.

Motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131041

CPU:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116001

1 GB of Ram (for now):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146580

Video Card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130056

Power Supply:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817189003

This all comes out to be around $434.96 without shipping and such.
I tried to take what was already recommended here because it fit what I was hoping to do.
I am really new to this so opinions are welcome. Hopefully everything will work well together and no mistakes were made.

Thanks for your time all. Loads of info on these boards for sure.

Sorry again for jumping into the other thread. No offense was meant.

That will all work together well. However, what you may want to consider is get a 7600GT - there should be one at Newegg for under $100 after rebate - and up the processor to a 915. Do keep in mind that a single ram module will result in a bit of performance loss over a dual channel kit.

If you can afford a few more bucks, would look at the D 915 cpu. It's faster and runs a lot cooler than the 805.
The rest is pretty good.

I checked out the 915 processors and saw this one for a mere $15 more.

For the RAM I figured I could use this instead of a single module

I take it there isn't much performance difference between the 7600GT and 7900 GS so I came up with this:

All of this pretty much balances out and keeps the total price between $400-450 which would make me very happy indeed. Thanks for the tips!

To me, it looks a very respectable list with no complaints. Not sure what advice I can give except it's not bad!

I checked out the eVGA versions of both the 7600GT and the 7900GS. I would agree....for 40 bucks more there isn't really a huge difference. That GT should do well enough in most tasks to not be a letdown. I run a 7600GS with no complaints.

I'd go with the value select ram, even though it's the same price - its 1.8 volt.
