Random Problerm

Hey. You guys helped me assemble my computer last christmas. Right now i am on my parents. My computer ran fine for a year, but just recently i got an ati error report, so i clicked send error report. I turned off my computer to go out. I come home and i get a black screen asking how i want my computer to start up. I try moving it but my keyboard isn't responding. I know my keyboard is working because it is an Eclipse II so it was lighting up. It never actually booted in normal setup so i turned it off. Now i turn on my computer and it runs. However the screen is black and it is an orange light, as if it is on stand-by. I took my video card out and made sure it was in properly and it is fine. Any Suggestions? This is the only video card on my computer there is none on my mother board to test.

yeh i saw that sticky. However are there any easier alternatives or ideas. This isn't anything extreme because my computer has been working fine for a year and this is random. I dont wanna take my computer apart because i dont have my mobo or case instructions and fitting all of the led cables and what not was a puzzle. So any more basic ideas? Also when i turn on the computer i get 7 or 8 beeps in my headfones, if that helps. I have an MSI mobo with an ATX AGP card.

Could you list the major parts in the case by brand and model number/PSU: list the make/model/watts.
Not sure what the headphones beeps indicate but the case speaker should beep once if it passes POST or a series of beeps if something is wrong with certain parts.

OK, i took care of the problems. One of my wires got disconnected and i could'nt see that. Now my problem is it takes me to the msi screen, then loads windows. It then shuts down windows and restarts my comp. It then asks me how i wish to reboot cause there is a problem. My keyboard works but i can not change which selection i have. it then boots up and takes me to a static screen. Any suggestions?

Start hitting F8 just before the MSI screens goes away, this should bring you to the Windows start up selection. Select Safe Mode. If the keyboard still won't work, try a different one if possible.

Ok, i got my keyboard working. Now i click on the safe mode and it reboots my comp, bring me to an error screen asking how i want to boot my computer. When i go to last known config or normally it starts to load windows, then goes black and my monitor is on standby (orange led). Then it comes out of it wit a static screen. What be up 'mon!

Try GLC's link....it's a bit of a pain, but hey, the comp doesn't really work right now, right? Taking it out of the case eliminates a host of variables and we can set about determining the source of the problem.

*EDIT* If you can, write down where the cables are hooked up, or look online for the mobo manual...
