Antec NeoHE a bad choice?
Hey guys,
I've been reading some reviews of the Antec NeoHE 500w PSU, something I had planned on using in my upcoming PC build. A few of them have mentioned that the NeoHE line has dropped the amperage on the 3.3v and 5v rails considerably. It is true that it is lower than other similar PSUs. Antec's SP 500w 35A on 5v as opposed to 17A on 5v on the NeoHE. A Seasonic 500w has 30A on both the 3.3v and 5v while the NeoHE has only 23A on the 3.3v. Will this cause problems for a mid-high end gaming build? I plan on doing it at the end of March, beginning of April with one of the new ATI R600 cards. Please advise. Thanks guys. EDIT: I am not tied to Antec, although I do need something with long power cables since this is going in an Antec P180B case. Because of that, I would prefer modular cabling.

From what I understand, the Seasonic S12's now have cables that are long enough to be used in a P180 case. Those are excellent PSU's.

If you want modular cables, look at the Corsair power supplies, either the 520 watt or 620 watt depending on how major your build is. There is a little bit of a price premium on them, but they are nice. And yes, the cable length is proven in the P180. I've checked the reviews myself.

Anyone of the mentioned power supplies should be very good.
