SATA and Ultra DMA disks in same system
I'm building a system with a single SATA drive and also want to use a Ultra DMA disk that I had from another system as a 2nd drive, mostly for data backup. My Mobo, ASUS M2N-E SLI has connectors for both types of disks. question which disk will show up as the "C" drive for the OS? The DMA will be a "master" as it is the only drive on the cable.
Does the system automatically see SATA 1 as the "C" drive or si there something I have to do? Tnx, Captjack |

Load your OS with only the SATA drive connected. Be sure to load the SATA drivers prior to attempting the OS load (if the drivers are needed). Then connect the other hdd and check the bios to assure the correct hdd boot selection.
