splat upgrading case , problems !! help !!!

hi bought the wife a new case for christmas , so i thought i had better move all the bits across seing as it is march !!!

moved all the existing bits from old case to new , with the exception of the floppy as they are really obsolete now.

the problems is


everything boots up ok until after the memory check , then the system hangs and won't detect any ide devices

anybody got any idea's ?

It worked before and doesn't now, I would have to think that your cards, or ram are not plugged in securely, or there is a wire not plugged in properly. I assume you did not change any of the basic hardware other than the case?

tried that one , swapped out the ram and the graphics card but still no good

starting to think it might be the floppy or the ide connectors are broken ?

It's a little extreme, but try this: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=132409

That'll tell you if it's a problem with a core component or simply with something to do with the new case/installation.
