need help

Ive just rebuilt an old PC (one i had lying around before i move on to something harder). ive taken it apart nd rebuilt it a few times, never having any problems, this time however when i power it up there is nothing goin to the monitor, ive checked the graphics card see if thats in correct and i believe it is, ive checked the monitor and that is working fine. any other ideas as to what i amy have missed out, any and all suggestions would be great

its a windows 98 pc, thats bout all i know tbh as i say it was one i had lying around the house from ages ago, sorry i cnt give ne more details
