Lights on, fans run, no boot up.

Hi all,

Fairly new to this site, I have been reading lots of interesting posts but couldn't find any answers to my problem. I will try to give all information possible. I am rebuilding a system that was working last week until I pooked my nose inside the cover, so to speak, anyway now it doesn't work.

System info.
Microstar Ms-6533 Ver 1 mobo
p4 1.6 Ghz processor
512 meg DDR 3200 Ram
40 gig hdd master
40 gig hdd slave (removed for trouble shooting)
Lg Dvd +/- R/Rw
Cd R/Rw (removed for trouble shooting)

I think that's all, anyway after powering the system up, everything gets power, but system won't boot up. The monitor doesn't even kick in. I believe, (but not sure), that I need to clear and reset Cmos because the settings got so messed up but after jumpering it to clear it nothing changes.

Before I go, I forgot to mention that I thought I had bad ram at first but it tested okay in another comp, then I thought maybe the processor but it to tested okay as well, hence the reason I think the Bios is screwed up and I can't get it cleared no matter what I do. Have jumpered it, taken the battery out for well over 12 hours. I am out of ideas, help would be greatly appreciated.

What exactly did you do to it? Have you tried the doing the out of case build?

Actually no, I want to do the out of the case build but could not find the proper proceedure...

Told you I was new..lol, I looked for it but didn't see it.

I'm pretty sure I broke it but after I find and do the out of the case build I will know for sure.
