Tweaking My system

Hello all,

I've got to thank you for all your help with my build here are my system specs:

Intel Core 2 Due E6600
Asus P5B Deluxe
EVGA GeForce 7950GT 512 MB
ANtec 550W PSU
Corsair ValueSelect 250GB (2x1)

Anyway there are a couple of things I'm a little confused with. The System is running great and I'm loving thies first computer I've built. The problmes are these. When I reboot the system it seems to take a very long time to shut down.

The other is that there are 98 process running on my computer when I open task mannager. This this a lot?

Any suggestiong would be great

Trent

PS. I want to smooth everything out so I can run MS Flight Sim X. (Just got my pilot slot for the USAF got to practice)

98 processes is a lot, yes. Do you recognize all of them? If not, you can google the names to find out what they are.

The shutdown time is probably related to all of those processes. If the system has to stop so many, the time will increase.

There are a lot of programs that don't need to open at system start-up. Some of these are: Office/video and audio players/printer menus/scanner/Adobe Reader/downloaded utilities/etc. A lot of programs will put themselves into the startup during installation. To see what is in Startup, open RUN from the START button and type in: msconfig . the startup tab will show what is starting during boot.
