New build problems

I get the following two error messages:

Intel CPU uCode loading error
Press F1 to Resume

Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key

I don't quite understand these from what I've read. I tried searching things but the only good advice was to unplug the firewire and usb... and most of the advice is years old.
I'm using a P5B-E with an Intel E6300 cpu and a sata cd/dvd drive. The rest is http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=176806 if it is needed (if the hd is the problem or something).

So, anyways, how might I understand and fix this? The XP CD is in the drive but it doesn't want to be read. I changed the checking order to no avail. So, what next?

Please post the complete system specs for this computer.

Is the motherboard mounted in the case or out of it?

Did you try clearing the CMOS yet?

I've always thought the uCode errors meant incompatible processor. That would be odd with a P5B board, though, so as Cricket suggested, I'd reset the CMOS and if necessary try to flash the BIOS using a floppy or other method.

Complete specs:
Sonata case
Asus P5B
E6300 CPU
2x512 Corsair Value Select DDR2-667 ram kit
7600GT
Seagate 7200.10 SATA
Lite-On retail burner

I'll try the CMOS but I'll have to pull out a floppy drive to flash the BIOS as the CD drive doesn't want to go, as said before.

Could be an issue with the P965 chipset and IDE burners (if it is IDE), although a good amount of people don't have this issue.

The burner is SATA. I tried the CMOS thing but it didn't work. It does make one beep but it means probably that there is no master drive detected, which gives me no more information. Is it possible I have a defective part?

It also thinks the memory is in single channel mode. The BIOS seems to be good enough (402, only 200 something needed).

I found that I might need a version 904 bios. looks like it's time to flash.

Now the processor and memory are recognized fine, but I still get the "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" error. Might there be a problem with one of the drives or cables? The disc itself?

IF you go into the bios, does it see the CD drive? And is it set as the first boot device?

The BIOS does list it and it is set to the first one.
