That is a solid list, you've done your homework.

For everyone's benefit, the power supply is an FSP 450: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104954

The only thing you might want to look at is the monitor. I don't know about Chimea's quality. The 22" Acer on Newegg that is $260 is an excellent deal.

Looks good.

Only thing I would change optionally is adding a bit beefier powersupply, perhaps a Corsair HX 520W so that your set for future upgrades.

I wouldn't feel too comfortable about that monitor. I've never really heard of that brand being all that great, and open box items are questionable at best. I would try to buy new and quality.

Thanks for the suggestions, i will take them in consideration. Should i go for it and build it? I never built a computer before and im afraid to damage the parts and lose more money . What book i need to have by my side to begin building this baby. And what 22" monitor can you recommend, not that expensive no more than $300 if possible. THANKS.

Our very own PCMech book will guide you through the build. You should definitely build. Take your time and ask questions, you'll do fine.

Newegg has a 22" Acer for $260. That is a heck of deal and a good quality monitor. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824009102

Assembling the computer is actually the easy part...the hard part is selecting the right parts that will perform together well without any compatibility issues.

I'd look at ACER, Samsung and LG LCD monitors.

Thats a solid looking list. ID agree with a stronger PSU.
As for monitors, I'm really happy with my HP monitor.

I'll put in another vote for Acer monitors. I'm using a 17" AL1715 and it's been running perfect for more than a year.

Acer and LG, bro. I push LG a lot because of the really high contrast ratios...it just makes everything look a world more clear and sharp. They have a 19" model on Newegg that has a 1400:1 ratio...same as my 17".

When I was shopping for my current 19" LCD monitor I had it narrowed down between LG and Samsung. I had the opportunity to compare a 19" LG and 19" Samsung side by side using the same image and I honestly couldn't see any difference between the two. I have a degree in Fine Arts (Drawing and Painting) and I'm very visual and color sensitive so any difference between the two monitors would have been very clear to me, but the quality of the image between the two monitors was just too close to call. My wife had her 17" Samsung LCD for 3 years without any problems so I went with the Samsung and have been very happy with it.

I read somewhere that the contrast ratio for LCD monitors isn't standardized and the manufacturer's came up with their own methods to figure out contrast ratio measurements for their monitors, so you really shouldn't compare contrast ratio numbers between the different manufacturers. Best to actually look at the monitors (side by side if possible) to see which one looks best to you.

Those changes are all fine. Your LiteOn is solid, it comes with software.

For the keyboard/mouse, that is largely personal preference for what feels good in the hand. The Logitech G5 is a popular gaming mouse.

You should not have any issues with games on a wide monitor. Most games support those resolutions, and those that don't can usually be tweaked to support them.

odracir,

I was in your same shoes a couple of months ago. You'll get good advice here and they are right, putting it together is the easy part.

I'll agree with the recommendations on the PSU. I've put a couple together now, and you save yourself a lot of headaches when you don't skimp on the PSU. I personally put the 520w Corsair in my rig and I love it. Voltage is rock steady, it's quiet, and gives me room to upgrade.

Depending on what type of games you play you might think ahead to DX10. I stuck a placeholder video card (7600GT) until more dx10 cards come out and the price drops.

For the monitor, I took a chance and went with an off brand LCD. I went with a Sceptre 20" LCD. I was very surprised at the quality of it. Mine shipped with 0 dead pixels and it just looks great. For 180 bucks it's a steal. Take a look through the user comments there, it seems it's a pretty quality monitor.

Take my advice with a grain of salt. I'm a newbie, but I'm learning.

The Retail version of the CPU, which you have in your list, will come with a heatsink and fan.

The case looks like a good one. Lian-Lis are very high quality.
