DVD drive drivers?

My computer detects the SATA drive I have, but it won't boot the XP disk I have... How do I install the drivers and where might I get them?

Sonata case
Asus P5B
E6300 CPU
2x1 Corsair Value Select DDR2-667 ram kit
7600GT
Seagate 7200.10 SATA
Lite-On SATA DVD/CD burner

Is the DVD/CD drive selected 1st in BIOS?

It is selected first. I have tried clearing the CMOS and plugging wires back in various ways but nothing works.

so if it IS selected first, and you have the disc in the drive, it should ask you if you want to boot from CD. Does it do this or does it not even ask you?

Make sure the DVD is on the ICH controller and not the JMicron - and the ICH is set to emulate IDE or is in AHCI mode unless you are using RAID. Then make sure the DVD drive is seen on the POST screen.

How do you change it from JMicron to ICH? I tried using both the IDE and AHCI but neither seemed to work. It is detected on the POST screen.

You change it by physically moving the cable. Some of the motherboard ports are ICH, others are JMicron. That board has 6 ports - 4 are ICH and 2 are JMB.

You will not need that driver.
