Family Computer Upgrade

I am sure you guys get tired of looking through these, and I have actually taken a look at a good few threads here to look for similar builds, and I did not want to jack someone elses thread, so here goes.

This is an upgrade for the family PC, used for the occasional light gaming, picture editing, surfing the web, word/excel/etc. and
playing music.

Going with X2 over C2D because, after looking at the benchmarks at Toms, the E6400, which was like 50 dollars more then the 5200+ had slower marks, so I figured, the next model down, which was more expensive then the 4600+ would also have similar results, anyhow:

Case: not too sure, just need something that will work, and is not ugly, any reccomendations? - <$50

PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104954 FSP 450W - $51
Again this may be overkill, but it was said this was a good brand, and it is not too much money

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138041 Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra - $65
Good enough for what we need I think, as long as you guys don't think it sucks

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103751 AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ - $123
Only 2X512K L2 cache, but I still think the 4600+ is overkill as it is for what we need

HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136055 WD 250GB SATA - $80
Good enough I suppose, we wanted atleast 250gb

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820144044 GeIL 1GB DDR2 800 - $76
Wanted 1gb, this was pretty cheap, and seems to be on top of things

DVD/RW: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827152076 NEC 7170A - $30
I got a NEC before and it has worked great, and this was cheap

Sound Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102002 SB Audigy SE 7.1 - $29
Basically just something to make sound, this gets the job done and is cheap

Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130075 EVGA 7600GS - $90
Probably overkill again, but it is not that much and will be good enough for a good while now

Others: Already got XP Professional, mouse, keyboard, monitor, speakers, ethernet card

Total: ~$584 w/o shipping or mail in rebates, same system @ Dell was about $200 more with crappier parts I think

Will our old ethernet card work on the new machine? or do we need to get a new one?

Should we get extra case fans? Do I need to puchase any at all?

Will all this stuff work together?

Should I go with any other thing over what I have selected?

Is there anything else that I am missing here or should be thinking about?

Thnx for any and all help!!

Btw, trying to keep it under 600 dollars if at all possible

NForce 4 sucks with AM2 and you should get a dual channel ram kit. Forget the sound card, just use the onboard. Ethernet is onboard.

If you can wait till the end of April the C2D prices are going to be cut considerably.
