1x RAM work?

I know the RAM is compatible but would only one chip work with the motherboard?

Motherboard: ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe Socket AM2

Yes, but you would get better performance, by utilizing the dual channel.. Instead of one 1GB either get a twin 1GB ( 2X512) Kit or better yet a twin 2GB (2X1GB).

Yes I don't know much about ADATA quality, but you might want to use Corsiar, Kingston, Crucial, or even OCZ..

My suggestion:

Would recommend 2GB RAM for a gaming system, though.
