drives not found in bios, xp wont boot...

Hey guys I put my new system together tonight and can't seem to get XP to boot, here is my system:

Asus P5B-E
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Conroe
2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR800
Seagate 320gb 7200/16mb SATA oem
Lite-On DVD-RW SATA Retail

I flashed to the latest non-beta bios for the mobo, the mobo cd boots up fine but I cannot get my XP cd to boot. I only have SATA drives and on the starting screen it says no drives detected, they do show up in the bios screen though, I also have put the optical drive first and still nothing. Now I looked on the net and found some similar problems that say you have to manually install the SATA drivers for the Optical and HHD in order for the mobo to recognize the drives, but I do not know how to go about doing this, the mobo CD does have 4 different RAID driver options to make a disk but I don't know if this is what I am looking for, this pc building is all new to me. Should I flash the mobo bios to the latest beta drivers?

Is this a SATA issue? Its frustrating me........

If the motherboard CD boots but the XP CD won't boot, your XP CD is defective.

Wow, maybe i was spaced out and tired last night and I put in disc 2 by mistake cause I just tried it again and I am installing it as we speak
