Great combo of parts. The list didn't show a hard drive. Would get a SATA drive.

For optical I go with Lite-on it is cheaper and better than samsung.. Good choice of processor.. I would recommend a ASUS board over the Jetway.. You get what you pay for... That psu isn't going to cut it. The video card needs a minimum 350watt.. I would suggest a 450 or better...

Don't skimp on the motherboard just so it matches the RAM. At any rate, that RAM is overpriced. Here's 1GB of Corsair DDR2-667 for just $58!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145568

THEN you can get a proper motherboard to go with it - the ASUS P5L-MX has on-board video, so no need for a dedicated video card (but it has the PCI-E x16 slot for upgrades)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131041

I also wouldn't get an open box CPU. Take a look at this link:

http://www.behardware.com/news/8579/...e-2-22-04.html

In a week or so Intel are releasing a couple of Dual Core pentiums that will no doubt be excellent for the price, and kill off the Pentium Ds. I'm ASSUMING the P5L-MX will be compatible with them, but I'm not sure. The socket type will be the same, but a lot depends on the chipset.

You might also consider this case - it comes with an FSP power supply

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811153042

Finally, I'd take a Lite-on optical drive over a Samsung any day.

I would get a better psu. I would get this one.

ENERMAX 300W only $33
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103463

but then again maybe it doesn't matter on a budget computer.

Freakitchen thanks for the input ill take it into consideration.

Also i dont belive that is a bad psu i hear that is a good brand. And that case is better i would agree and its nice that it comes with psu of the same brand.

PSU is good, but your video card requires a minimum 350watt.. That 300 won't cut it..

The 300w standalone, or the one in the Foxconn case, would be fine for the on-board video if you decided to get the P5L-MX.

If you still wanted to get a dedicated vid card, though, this case/psu would be more suitable.

Although not recamended a 300 Watt psu would be sufficiant.

I now have a 300 watt off brand psu running a 7600 GT perfectly fine. (cannot afford a new psu)

The only reason for haveing a graphics card at all is to have better than avg graphics. I dont need gaming graphics.

yes but also a little more exspensive than my current combo. LOL yes its a cheapy but just for my mom. She currently has my old comp which is only a 256 RAM onboard graphic Compaq. So im just trying to set her up for the years to come. She is plenty happy now but i finally think i am convincing her to get a new one and price is a big key in the convincing process.

For that use, on-board video, and a 300w FSP power supply, would be just fine.
