Thumbs up first build (last check)

This build is going to look very familiar to the readers of this board. I'm trying to build a decent gaming computer for around $1000, not including a monitor, which is what most people here seem to want. Anyway, I just want a final confirmation for these components.

This comes to about $1200, including the monitor. Any comments? I guess I'll have to get XP too for games, but I'll mainly be running Kubuntu Linux. How hard is it to get games working in Linux? Any loss of performance?

Go ahead and get a SATA DVD Burner - that's the way it's all going now. If you're not planning on overclocking, you'll be fine using CORSAIR VALUE SELECT PC5300. Don't know about gaming with Linux; someone else here can help you with that. The rest looks pretty good.

I'd look at different power supplies - the Goodpowers aren't that great.

Windows games will not run in Linux without a virtual machine or an emulator - both of which hurt performance. I'd set up a dual boot and use real XP for gaming.
