I'm guessing these are IDE drives, correct?
If you have them connected to an 80 wire IDE cable, make sure that both drives are jumpered to Cable Select. (80 wire cables have thinner ridges, and the connector on the motherboard end is a different color).

Yes, they are IDE, and they were working fine before I replced the motherboard, so I ASSume the Jumper in correct, but I will check when I get home, and oh yes they are 80 and connected.
correct me if Im wrong but when I right click and click eject they open, so that means they are connected, right? |

The fact that they open means they are connected, but they will have problems reading disks if they aren't jumpered correctly. Also make sure the ide cable is in the right way 'round (The correct end has to be in the motherboard, the other two plugs go to the cd drives) I'm not sure if it's possible to switch that around by accident, but double check just in case.
Do the drives show an error symbol in the device manager? |

Since you installed the new motherboard... did you install the drivers that come with the motherboard?
You may also need to do a repair install of Windows XP if you have not already done so. Instructions on doing so... can be found here: Repair Reinstallation of Windows XP (using XP CD) |
