What i want in a graphics card: AGP 128-bit memory (or more) 256 MB (ddr2+) Core clock: 325MHz or hopefully higher. PixelPipelines 4 or above? (i don't know much about them) I'v been looking at these. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814136008 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102085 (this ones pushing the budget) ____________________________________________ I Also am thinking about upgrading the cpu, it currently has a Pentium 4 2.6GHz Hyper-Threading. Heres its mobo specs. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...ncodeUrl=true& Should i upgrade it? And if so what processor should i upgrade to. (i don't know much about old computers) Thanks ![]() Edit: Sorry i should have posted it in the other section, but there isnt a delete or move post button. I'd go with the Sapphire, and I would think you would up the ram instead.. That 2.6 should be good enough.. I you want to up the cpu then go for broke and max out the MB capacity..

Finding faster Northwood P4s is just about impossible. About the only thing out there are Prescotts and your system doesn't support them. As DD5 says: up the ram and get the Sapphire.

I have 1gb of ram, 2 x 256, 1 x 512. With one slot open.
For ram i was thinking http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231036 (1gb) $65 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145477 (2 x 512 but i would have to remove 256mbs) $45 $65= total of 2gbs $45 total of 1.5gbs thats a tuffy. (why is old ram so expensive??) PS: dose it matter what order i put the sticks in? PSS: I some times audio is slow and takes some cpu power during games, maybe this card would be good. (this would come a later if i still get slow downs after everything eles) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102003 Last edited by HarshWinter; 04-28-2007 at 04:43 PM. |

I'd gop with the Corsair. What you want to do is install matchng pairs.. If your going to say upgrade to 2Gb then buy 4 sticks of 512 same speed and latency.. You should never mix ram cause you could run into problems.. You also want to utilize the dual channel mode of your MB
